So far, more than 600 journals have declared endorsement to the ARRIVE (Animals in Research: Reporting In Vivo Experiments) guidelines, a checklist of 20 items describing the minimum information that all scientific publications reporting research using animals should include. These guidelines were developed to maximize the output from research using animals by optimizing the information that is provided in publications on the design, conduct, and analysis of the experiments. Consider the following statements.
I - The total sample size for each experimental group must be provided. It is not necessary to provide each assay sample size.
II - If any animals or data were not included in the analysis, an explanation must be provided.
III - The manuscript must contain details of the animals used, including species, strain, sex, developmental stage, and weight.
IV - Provide information on the steps taken to minimize the effects of subjective bias when allocating animals to treatment (e.g., randomization procedure) and when assessing results (e.g., if applicable, describe who was blinded and when).
Which are part of the ARRIVE guidelines?
